The summer is ending even crazier than when it began. There’s so much to report. But we’ll get to that in time. I’ve been watching the Olympics and like everyone else I’m sure, watching Michael Phelps beat record after record. This guy is incredible. Some might say they’re just tired of watching him win every race. But in my opinion this is different than watching the Yankees go to the playoffs every year which does in fact make me sick to my stomach. Phelps is winning entirely on his own and to everyone’s knowledge doing it drug free. I don’t necessarily marvel at the man himself. It’s more an awe at how God built this guy. They did a 3 minute spot last night about how his body is just built for speed. It was incredible to think that this guy was just born to swim. God did that. I know he has great dedication and an insane training schedule but there’s no denying that he is one of, if not themost dominant athlete ever in any sport. Lance Armstrong won the tour de France 7 times. That’s incredible. Michael Jordan without doubt is one of the greatest ever. TIger Woods. There are others. But Michael Phelps doesn’t lose. Last night before the 200 IM they mentioned that he had not lost that race in 7 years. 7 YEARS. That includes trials, world championships, Olympics. Since 2001 he had not come in 2nd. Ever. I don’t know Michael Phelps spiritual condition but I wonder if he’s ever thought about God when it comes to his ability. 6 Gold medals already and possibly more to come.
Two other athletes I have been impressed with were male gymnasts, one American and one Chinese. The American was doing a high bar routine that blew me away. I was holding my breath for most of it, especially when he would let go of the bar and do a couple flips and twists. Incredible. But in terms of sheer strength, the Chinese gymnast did a routine on the still rings that had me gasping for air. He swung down into in iron cross with his legs extended. Then he moved his body into a horizontal position. From there he leaned forward and brought his legs over his head to continue the routine. He did the last move with NO momentum. The rings were still. His body was not shaking with fatigue. It was one of the greatest shows of strength I have ever witnessed, people tearing phone books in half included.
So yeah, I’m impressed with the Olympians. Talk to you again soon,

And don’t forget Roger Federer who has been ranked #1 in tennis for 237 straight weeks. That’s 4.5 years straight. That is dominance.
